Jokowi opens voice on girls who won Bobby in North Sumatra regional elections
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Quick Count results in the 2024 North Sumatra (Pilkada) regional election show that the number 1 candidate duo Bobby Nasution and Surya are leading with 62.63% of the vote.
The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, then delivered a message to Bobby, who was none other than his son-in-law.
“Those who win must still be humble,” Jokowi said during a visit to Medan, Friday (11/29), as quoted by CNN Indonesia.
Then, Jokowi also sent a message to the losing party not to give up and run again in the regional elections in the next 5 years.
Furthermore, Jokowi also asked all parties to be patient while waiting for the results of the official count (Real Count) which is still being processed at the North Sumatra General Election Commission (KPU).
Apart from this, Jokowi also responded to accusations that he was a “girl” in the 2024 North Sumatra regional elections by mobilizing a “chocolate party” (parcok) to win Bobby-Surya. For information, Parcok has recently been widely discussed and associated with the police.
“Ask Mr. Bobby,” Jokowi said briefly.
Besides Bobby, Jokowi was also accused of “cawe-cawe” during the Central Java regional elections to defeat Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin. Jokowi asked the accuser to report to Bawaslu or be brought before the Constitutional Court by including real evidence.
“Don’t just make accusations,” he said.
Previously, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto accused the police of abusing their power during the 2024 simultaneous regional elections.
He said he had received numerous reports from a number of regions, including North Sulawesi, Boyolali, Central Java, East Java and North Sumatra. According to Hasto, the police intervention was aimed at perpetuating Jokowi's power ambitions.
