Mothers pregnant with twins complain of fear with a coronavirus-positive test

She had to travel 300 miles from West Cumberland Hospital to London by herself to undergo laser surgery to fix the problem.

However, she was told she was likely to lose one of her twins.

The five mothers said: “I had a really severe pregnancy-I had twin to twin syndrome.

“I had to undergo laser surgery where they were told they were trying to save one of the babies-we weren’t intended to have both.

“Adam was only allowed to meet me at the end because of the coronavirus.

“It was a miracle that both twins survived.

“Last week’s hospitalization was like imprisonment.

“But thankfully, the staff were great. They made us feel comfortable despite all of our anxieties.

“In the end it was worth it. This year was a surreal year, but there are two beautiful and healthy girls.”

His father, Aaron, missed the birth of the twins and could only see them on July 11 after being transferred to Sunderland for further examination.

Aaron: “It was very difficult because I had to do everything myself. I just waited.

“The staff was incredible from start to finish and felt very comfortable with us despite all the anxieties surrounding pregnancy.

“I know people applaud for caregivers during lockdown, but they are always great all year round.

“We don’t keep two beautiful and healthy twins, if it’s their great undecided.”
