What is rabies?

Paralytic rabies: This is a more severe form of rabies, in which a person can become paralyzed, comatose, and die. Although rare, it is important to consult a specialist if you have any physical symptoms.
Diagnosis and treatment
Your doctor will help you determine if you have the disease by performing a blood or tissue test.
Infections can be treated with vaccination, which is typically done with 5 injections over a 14-day period. If you are bitten by an animal, we recommend that you get a rabies vaccination as soon as possible.
You can also prevent it by the following methods.
-Get rabies vaccinated, especially if you have pets, live in developing countries, or work closely with animals.
-Vaccine your pet and keep it out.
-Restrict contact with wild animals as much as possible.
