Britain needs to be ready for “difficult times” as it leaves the European Union, Prime Minister Theresa May said.
Speaking to the Andrew Marr Show – in his first major interview since taking office – May warned that Brexit would not be a “common sailing” for the UK. He said formal EU negotiations will not begin until 2017, but he said they will not give the process a “long grass”. Mrs May was also elected, saying the UK needed “stability”.
