The Campbellton area returns to yellow levels. Two new COVID-19 cases in NB
Halifax-New Brunswick reported two new cases of COVID-19 in the Fredericton region on Thursday.
Both of the two new cases relate to individuals aged 30-39 in the Fredericton region (Zone 3).
Public health states that the case is self-isolating and under investigation.
The two previously reported cases are now considered to have recovered, leaving 28 active cases in the state.
In New Brunswick, 349 COVID-19s have been identified, of which 315 have recovered. Six people have died and 28 active cases remain in the state.
Five patients are hospitalized, but there are no more patients in the intensive care unit.
As of Thursday, 105,242 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the state.
Turn Zone 5 back to yellow
The Campbellton region of New Brunswick (Zone 5) will return to the yellow level of the state’s COVID-19 recovery program at midnight on Friday.
Public health states that it has made recommendations based on a consistently declining number of cases and a significant reduction in the risk of further infection.
“We are accepting public health recommendations that the Campbellton region will return to yellow levels at midnight based on the steps taken by the community,” Prime Minister Brain Higgs said in a statement.

The Campbellton region returned to orange levels on October 9, after an outbreak in the region. Between October 8th and October 9th, 83 new cases were reported in the area.
As of Thursday, there are 14 active cases in the Campbellton area.
