Duluth Police: Quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure, 29 staff including chief
Mike Tusken, Duluth-Duluth Police Chief, Minnesota, said he was dealing with an outbreak of COVID-19, which was quarantined by 29 staff, including himself, after being exposed to the virus.
Tusken announced in a Facebook post, adding that 14 staff members have tested positive for the virus since mid-October.
According to Tusken, most quarantine employees do not test positive for the virus.
“Our top priority is the health and safety of our staff and the community,” continued Tasken. “Given the increasing number of positive cases and the nature of our work, our staff are at risk of exposure. Regardless of the situation, DPD will continue to serve the city of Duluth safely. It’s well-positioned. Emergency 911 calls and corresponding staffing are our priorities. “
