COVID-19 vaccination in Toronto — Ontario is expected to be fully functional today after being reduced during the holidays.
The state says five vaccination clinics are open on Sunday, 10 will resume activity on Monday, and all of them are set to resume vaccination today.
The latest figures released show that more than 11,000 shots have been administered in Ontario since Ontario received its first shipment of the Pfizer-Bio NTech vaccine in the middle of the month.
The drug storage requirement means that it is mainly used in hospitals, but the recently approved moderna vaccine is used in long-term sanatoriums, meetinghouses, and more rural areas.
Critics are having trouble suspending vaccinations during the holidays, saying the state cannot afford to delay vaccinations.
The state did not release a daily count of new COVID-19 cases and deaths on Monday. So today’s number will cover two days.
On Sunday, the state recorded 2,005 new infections and 18 new deaths associated with the new coronavirus.
The Chief Health Officer of Ontario will provide up-to-date information on the pandemic this afternoon.
