Trump National removed the 2022 US PGA Championship – BBC News
Trump National in Bedminster has been stripped of its U.S. PGA Championship in 2022 because it would be “harmful” for organizers to use the course as a host. The U.S. PGA voted to cancel the deal on Sunday. U.S. President Donald Trump has been accused by Democrats and some Republicans of pushing for riots in Congress last Wednesday. A representative of the Trump Organization said they are “extremely disappointed” with this decision. “It has become clear that conducting the Trump Bedminster PGA Tournament would be detrimental to the PGA of America brand and would jeopardize the PGA’s ability to deliver many of our programs and sustain the duration of our mission,” said Jim Person of Jim Person. “It was a decision to ensure that the American PGA and PGA professionals continue to drive and grow our game for decades to come.” The New Jersey course, one of 17 courses owned by Trump around the world, was scheduled to take place in May 2022.
