Oregon reports 5 more COVID-19 deaths and 637 new cases

Vaccinations will decrease, but the weekly average will exceed 12,000 goals

Portland, Oregon (KTVZ)-COVID-19 killed five more people in Oregon and increased the state’s death to 1,808, the Oregon Department of Health reported Tuesday.

OHA also reported 637 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 at 12:01 am on Tuesday, bringing the state to a total of 134,468 cases.

Vaccination in Oregon

On Tuesday, OHA reported that a new dose of 8,141 COVID-19 vaccinations had been added to the state’s vaccination registry. Of this total, 5,511 vaccinations were given on Monday and 2,630 were given the day before, but were registered for vaccination registration on Monday.

Cumulative daily totals can take several days to finalize, as providers have 72 hours to report the dose administered and many providers are behind in reporting due to technical challenges. OHA has provided technical support to vaccination sites to improve the timeliness of data entry into the state’s ALERT vaccination information system.

Based on the data currently entered, the average number of vaccinations per day for the last 7 days is 12,289 per day.

Oregon currently has a cumulative total of 225,066 first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. All vaccinations were carried out by Oregon hospitals, care facilities, emergency medical institutions, emergency medical facilities, and local public health authorities.

To date, 339,950 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites throughout Oregon.

The St. Charles Health System reported that it had been vaccinated with Pfizer-BioNTech 7,723 times by the beginning of Tuesday.

COVID-19 hospitalization

The number of patients admitted to COVID-19 throughout Oregon is 328, 14 fewer than Monday. There are 92 COVID-19 patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) bed, two less than Monday.

The total number of patients in bed can fluctuate during reporting times. This number does not reflect the number of hospital stays or length of stay per day. This data does not include personnel limits and may further limit bed capacity.

St. Charles Bend reported 31 COVID-19 patients early Tuesday, five of whom were in the ICU and all were on ventilator.

Newly confirmed estimated COVID-19 cases reported on Tuesday were Baker (5), Benton (16), Clackamas (63), Clatsop (1), Colombia (5), Couse (3), Crook (2). ), Deschutz (37), Douglas (5), Hood River (1), Jackson (41), Jefferson (2), Josephine (27), Clackamas (25), Lake (3), Lane (71), Lincoln ( 5), Lynn (7), Marion (67), Morrow (2), Multnomah (125), Pork (14), Tillamook (1), Umatilla (13), Union (4), Wasco (4), Washington ( 76) and Yamhill (12).

The 1,804th COVID-19 death in Oregon was a 78-year-old man in Deschutes County who tested positive on January 5 and died at St. Charles Bend Hospital on January 15. He had a fundamental condition.

The 1,805th COVID-19 death in Oregon was a 78-year-old woman in Josephine County who tested positive on 28 December and died at the Asantes Striking Distance Medical Center on 18 January. She had a fundamental condition.

The 1,806th COVID-19 death in Oregon was an 81-year-old woman in Lane County who tested positive on 25 November and died at home on 15 December. She had a fundamental condition.

The 1,807th COVID-19 death in Oregon was a 91-year-old man in Washington County who tested positive on 11 December and died at home on 15 January. He had a fundamental condition.

The 1,808th COVID-19 death in Oregon was a 65-year-old woman in Washington County who tested positive on January 4 and died at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital on January 17. She had a fundamental condition.
