According to new guidelines, women receiving the COVID-19 vaccine should immediately change their mammogram schedule

“Therefore, having a mammogram immediately after the COVID vaccine can cause lymph node enlargement,” Parkinson said.
He said that lymph node swelling is rarely seen unless breast cancer has spread to the lymph nodes, or unless it is lymphoma or leukemia.

The new guidelines are also recommended by the Breast Imaging Society after the swelling of lymph nodes has been found in mammograms nationwide.
If the swelling of the lymph nodes does not go away after 4 weeks, he said Parkinson’s disease should be seen by a doctor.
“This is a known side effect,” he said. “Don’t panic if it happens, but if it doesn’t work, you can go in and see it. We’ll look specifically at that lymph node.”
