Joseph Quinn isn't worried about superhero fatigue plaguing the “Fantastic Four.”
The 30-year-old actor is set to star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film as Johnny Storm/Human Touch and has dispelled any fears that public exasperation with the genre could impact the performance of the film when it hits theaters next year.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Joseph said: “I think with the Fantastic Four story, it feels like we want to get it right.
“There are aspects that are very different from other Marvel films. That seemed very compelling to me. And again, going back to who is involved, Matt (Shakman), of course, the director, I think that It's great, and the cast, and I read it and the script is great, I'm excited to have this opportunity.
The 'Stranger Things' actor continued: “Superhero movies are movies about people. And if we're invested in the people and the characters, in the peril and in the spectacle, then that's why people go to the cinema to watch films. We're not just for a penny; we're going for a pound with this one.
Quinn is joined on the superhero team by a cast including Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach and he says working with such talent attracted him to the project.
He said: “I knew they had been talking about creating the Fantastic Four in the Marvel Universe for a while. I had a conversation with Matt, and he was very clear with the kind of people they were putting into it. .we try to do with that. There are aspects that are really a singular thing and its own.
“Working with Vanessa, Pedro and Ebon, they are truly consummate pros and brilliant at everything they do, so I’m really looking forward to building that family dynamic with them and with Matt Shakman’s guidance.”
