The 'Game Of Thrones' actor was 74
Ian Gelder, the actor who played Kevan Lannister in the HBO series Game Of Thronesdied at the age of 74.
Gelder's husband, Ben Daniels, shared a social media post announcing her death.
“It is with immense sadness and a heavy heart broken into millions of pieces that I leave this position to announce the passing of my cherished husband and life partner, Ian Gelder,” reads Daniels' message on Instagram. “Ian was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in December and died at 1:07 p.m. yesterday. I had stopped all work to care for him, but neither of us knew it would happen so quickly.
Daniels called Gelder an “absolute rock” and said they have been “partners for over 30 years.”
“If we weren't together, we would talk every day,” Daniels continued. “He was the kindest, most generous, most loving human being. He was a wonderful actor and everyone who worked with him was touched by his heart and his light. Honestly, I don't know what I'll do without him by my side.
Daniels said Gelder “faced his terrible illness with such courage, without self-pity. Never. He was remarkable and will be greatly missed.
“This photo was taken at Christmas after I released him from the hospital and even though he had the worst three weeks there, you can still see his joy and love shining through. Rest well, my sweet Chianni.
After Daniels shared the post, many actors shared their condolences.
