Actor Amit Mistry, a popular face in Bollywood and Gujarat films, has died
Actor Amit Mistry, who has played the role of a character in several Hindi and Gujarati-language films and series, died this morning after cardiac arrest. In addition to acting, he was also a dialogue writer and director. He was recently seen playing the role of the main character’s uncle in the Bandish Bandits web series.
Some of the film’s fraternity have expressed shock at Mistry’s death. Lyricist Swanand Kirkire said, “Amit Mistry? No… it’s amazing. He was a wonderful actor and a really happy soul. Also, actor Karan Grover offers his condolences. In the meantime, I tweeted “Shocking, Deep and Sad News #Amitmistry Peace be on ubrother”.
The Association of Cinema and Television Artists (CINTAA) also tweeted its condolences.
Actress Kubbra Sait also paid tribute and condolences to her family. She tweeted: “We will miss you on earth @Actoramitmistry Condolences to your family.”
Many other members of the film and television industry have expressed their sadness on Twitter.
