Local businesses donate to fashion and design show
Two local businesses have stepped up to help with an upcoming fashion show.
JULES THIN CRUST of Wayne and Gingy owner Jean Tremblay and stylist Stephanie Covino recently donated to a student-run fashion and design show taking place from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday the 19th. May in the Ludington Great Hall. Library.
Student directors Nadia Horchler and Nayra Garcia have been holding planning sessions for several months at Radnor High School. Designers, clothing designers and metal arts students from various Main Line schools will model their clothing, jewelry and accessories and describe the inspiration for their work.
At the heart of the show, Radnor High School textile arts teacher and TLC mentor Melanie Pereira had several of her students model dresses, tops and ensembles that they sewed and developed.
Starting at 2:30 p.m., there will be an opening concert featuring Lower Merion High School singer and songwriter Damini Babu on guitar.
Then, designers, models and special guests will be introduced.
Proceeds from the event, in the form of contributions and raffles of fabulous items, will be donated to the Crohn's Disease and Colitis Research Foundation based in Bala Cynwyd.
