Some schools have not yet implemented the “Merdeka” program, according to the minister
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Head of the Program Evaluation Standards Agency of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Anindito Aditomo, said that the ministry is currently urging several schools to implement implemented the Merdeka program. The Ministry of Education established the Merdeka Program as a national program in accordance with Ministerial Regulation No. 12 of 2024 concerning the Curriculum for Early Childhood Education, Basic Education Levels and Education Levels. secondary education. The Ministry of Education gives schools two to three years to implement the independent curriculum.
To achieve this goal, Anindito said the ministry is conducting training programs for teachers. One of these training programs is the Teacher Movement Program. Through this program, the ministry has trained tens of thousands of teachers to become future school principals and school supervisors.
There are also training sessions for school principals under the school movement program and vocational high school centers of excellence. In addition, there will be more specific training on new aspects of the Merdeka program, particularly for IT teachers, English teachers, physical education, sports and health teachers; as well as early childhood teachers and inclusive education teachers.
