But after eight years, four indictments and countless other tragedies, somewhat gloomy weather couldn't deter thousands of supporters of former President Donald Trump from hearing him speak Saturday at a rally in outside of Allentown.

When he was back in office before, we had a great economy, we had everything going for us, said Jennifer Flavin of Lehigh County. And now, since Biden has been in power, everything is going from bad to worse.

Trump returned to Pennsylvania on Saturday, days before President Joe Biden's planned visit to his hometown of Scranton. Before reaching the Schnecksville Fire Company Fairgrounds, the former president was attending a fundraiser in suburban Philadelphia.

Trump's visit also comes less than 48 hours before he arrives at a Manhattan courthouse for the start of jury selection in the first criminal trial of a former U.S. president.

On social media, Trump lashed out Saturday at the judge overseeing the secret trial, describing him and other judges as evil and afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome.

When asked about the legal issues as a whole, some of the Trump supporters who showed up in Schnecksville expressed a belief that the justice system was simply hell-bent on destroying Trump.

I think he (Biden) has politicized the justice system, said Allan Sanders of Berks County. She no longer wears a blindfold. This is all after Trump.

The Saturday rally in Schnecksville was the first in the area held by the former president this election season.
