Bobby Tepis Jokowi visits North Sumatra to discuss governor election: wants to see his grandchildren

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) spent the Eid holiday this year in Medan city. Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution said Jokowi was present in Medan during Eid to see his grandchildren.
“This time the president is here to see his grandchildren. Yes, I think it's a friendship,” Bobby said, as reported detikNorth SumatraTuesday (16/4/2024).
Bobby dismissed reports that Jokowi was there to discuss the North Sumatra gubernatorial election. He said Jokowi's visit was to celebrate Eid in North Sumatra.

“I don't think this is the president's first time celebrating Eid al-Fitr outside the region. In fact, previously, my family and I would have waited for the president to return from the region he visited before to be able to celebrate Eid together,” he said.
Previously, Jokowi and Iriana arrived in Medan, Thursday (11/4) afternoon. In the evening, Jokowi took his grandchildren Sedah Mirah Nasution, Panembahan Al Nahyan Nasution and Panembahan Al Saud to visit the Center Point shopping mall in the city of Medan, North Sumatra (North Sumatra).
Apart from that, Jokowi also had time to buy fruits at the Brastagi Fruit Market, Karo Regency on Saturday (13/4). Jokowi went directly to select and purchase fresh fruits produced locally and sold by sellers.
