A tense exchange reportedly took place between former Prime Minister Imran Khan's sister Aleema Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi and his daughters during a court hearing at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, sources said.

The incident took place on Monday during a hearing in the Toshakhana case. Jail sources said commotion broke out in the family section, with sounds of women arguing, interrupting Imran Khan's conversation with reporters three times.

The argument reportedly broke out when Aleema Khan made remarks in court about a female lawyer, prompting a reaction from Bushra Bibi and her daughters. The argument quickly escalated into a heated verbal exchange, during which Bushra Bibi's granddaughter reportedly started crying.

Amid this family dispute, Imran Khan, speaking to reporters, claimed that “all the drama” surrounding the arrest of former intelligence chief Lt Gen Faiz Hameed was just a ploy to push him before a military court. He expressed skepticism about the ongoing investigation against the former Joint Intelligence (ISI) chief over the May 9 unrest, suggesting that authorities were trying to extract a confession from Gen Hameed and pressuring him to say that the events of that day were part of a larger conspiracy.

However, Imran Khan asserted that if General Hameed had indeed ordered his arrest or was involved in the theft of CCTV footage on May 9, then he should be held responsible.

The former prime minister also expressed concern that the former ISI chief might be forced to testify against him. “It is said that General Hameed was the mastermind of the May 9 events. It seems they are going to make him a witness against me,” he noted.

Imran Khan also claimed that with other cases against him having been dropped, the authorities were now trying to drag him to military courts. Looking back at his tenure as prime minister, where he would have faced challenges in his appointments, including the post of army chief, DG ISI and even clerical staff, he admitted that he supported General Bajwa but claimed that he was misled about the capabilities of some corps commanders.
