Sister Aleema says former Pakistani PM Imran Khan faces increased restrictions

Islamabad, Aug 30 (UNI) Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder and former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, has said that to secure a speedy conviction in the ₹190 million case, authorities have increased pressure on her jailed brother, The Express Tribune reported.

Speaking to media outside Adiala Jail, she expressed concerns over the increasing restrictions imposed by Imran Khan, including limiting family access.

Aleema Khan said the former prime minister could meet only three people at a time. She attributed this to the impending September 8 event, which she said had raised concerns among officials.

She mentioned that yesterday several people were waiting outside and only Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz were allowed to visit her.

Aleema said in his speech that the prosecution had requested an adjournment of the hearing until Monday because it was not prepared when it filed a bail application in Toshakhana's case.

She raised concerns about attempts to speed up Imran Khan's conviction in the £190 million case, referring to statements allegedly made by Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

Aleema also warned that Imran Khan would pursue further legal action in the High Court if he is convicted in the £190 million case.

She also expressed concerns about the future of the Al-Qadir Foundation, saying that students enrolled there would suffer if the foundation were closed.
