Kaesang Visits KPK Private Jet Friend Gegara Nebeng, Jokowi Says This
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo yesterday opened his voice regarding the arrival of his youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) office in South Jakarta city. As is known, Kaesang admitted that he came to clarify the alleged jet plane gratification that was addressed to him.
“I have already said that all citizens are equal before the law. That's it,” Jokowi told reporters after inaugurating the opening of the 10th Indonesian International Geothermal Convention and Exhibition 2024 at the Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan, in central Jakarta city. For information, Kaesang, who is also the General Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), visited the former KPK building around 10:30 WIB. Kaesang was accompanied by Spokesperson, Francine Widjojo; Lawyer, Nasrullah; and PSI Secretary General, Raja Juli Antoni.
“So today, I came to the KPK as a good citizen. I am not an administrator or a state official. I came here not because of an invitation, nor because of a call, but on my own initiative,” Kaesang said.
“Earlier, I also specified my trip on August 18, 2024 to the United States, which consisted of hitchhiking or, in popular language, boarding my friend's plane,” continued Erina Gudono's husband.
So far, Kaesang has not explained in detail who the owner is. private jet which he set up with Erina Gudono. He asked the media to confirm further to the KPK.
The Corruption Eradication Commission's Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring, Pahala Nainggolan, revealed that the initials Y were the character that Kaesang and Erina claimed to travel with on August 18, 2024. Pahala said the findings related to these initials were obtained from Kaesang's statement when delivering a gratuity form regarding the use of a private jet at the Jakarta Anti-Corruption Education Center building yesterday.
However, Pahala admitted that he could not provide detailed information on the identity of Kaesang's alleged friend who was traveling with him to the United States. He said the Corruption Eradication Commission would investigate further, including the identity of the owner of the private jet.
“It is not mentioned in detail who. It's just the name, yes, we don't know either. The initials are Y,” Pahala told reporters, Tuesday (17/9/2024). “We don't know, that's right, not the full name. Who is this person, WNI (Indonesian citizen), WNA (foreign citizen), or something like that. We will confirm later who owns the plane,” he continued.
In addition, Pahala said that Kaesang was not only with Erina when she left for the United States, but also with Erina's older brother and his staff, whose numbers have not been explained in detail. Meanwhile, the KPK will confirm this again this week.
Regarding Kaesang's friend with the initials “Y” who was not on the jet to the US, Pahala said the KPK would confirm it further, including to Y.
“Later, it is true, we will ask here the same friend who just wrote to a nebeng friend. We will ask later,” Pahala said.
