Imran Khan rejected Bushra Bibi's plea for acquittal in Toshakhana II case

ISLAMABAD: A special court of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday rejected the plea for acquittal of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana II case.

Special Courts Judge Shahrukh Arjumand rejected the plea for acquittal and announced that the former prime minister and ex-first lady would be indicted in the said case on November 18.

The court had reserved its verdict on the acquittal plea on November 8.

The development comes a month after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted bail to Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana-II case against sureties of one million rupees. After a month of incarceration, the wife of the former Prime Minister was released from Adiala prison.

On July 13, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) indicted Khan and Bibi in a new case related to an alleged illegal sale of a jewelry set given to Bushra by the Saudi crown prince when Imran Khan was the country's prime minister. 2018 to 2018. 2022.
