Islamabad: President of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, said on Thursday that party founder Imran Khan interrupted the current talks with the government.

During an interaction with the media by arriving in Parliament, the lawyer Gohar stressed that the PTI had started discussions with an open heart, presenting only two requests: the formation of judicial commissions to investigate the riots of May 9 and the November demonstration of last year in Islamabad, as well as the release of “political prisoners”.

The declaration of the president of the PTI contrasts with his previous announcement to cancel the negotiations in progress with the government about the incapacity of the latter to form the judicial commission within the period of seven days fixed by the former ruling party.

“The founder of the PTI categorically announced that no other cycle of negotiations would take place,” Gohar said by addressing the media before Adiala prison in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

The current dialogue between the government led by the Muslim League of Pakistan-Nawaz (PML-N) and the PTI started at the end of December after months of increased political tensions.

However, weeks of talks with three sessions that have taken place so far have hardly progressed on key issues.

The party founded by Khan, in his written charter of claims presented to the government during the third session on January 16, had demanded the formation of two judicial commissions appointed mutually by the PTI and the government within seven days and the release of “Political prisoners”. “.

The PTI announcement, however, aroused criticism from the government who criticized the party for its rigid attitude and urged it to reconsider its decision.

However, seeming to return to his previous statement, lawyer Gohar said today that the party could reconsider its decision to cancel the dialogue, but that the government must announce the formation of a judicial commission.

“Seven days were more than sufficient for the announcement of the commission, but no progress has been made,” he said.

Will not participate in the fourth cycle of talks: Gohar

Meanwhile, the president of the National Assembly, Ayaz Sadiq, summoned the fourth cycle of talks between the government and the PTI at 11:45 pm on January 28.

Senator Irfan Siddiqui, spokesman for the government's negotiation committee, said the PTI was invited to the meeting of the negotiation committee.

“The PTI did not inform [us] By writing on the cancellation of negotiations, “he noted.

However, refusing to participate in any new dialogue session, lawyer Gohar said that the party would not participate in the fourth cycle of talks scheduled for January 28.

In addition, addressing the media earlier from the outside of Parliament, Senator Siddiqui censored the former ruling party for the announcement made Thursday of the cancellation of talks.

“We have not canceled the negotiations, but when a party suddenly ends the negotiations, with whom are we supposed to negotiate? Should we sit in a room and talk to the walls?” he said.

He criticized the unpredictability of the opposing party: “The problem is that the prison doors open and that someone suddenly makes an announcement without even the negotiation committee informed”.

Stressing the lack of coordination, Siddiqui pointed out that the label, skills and mutual understanding required for negotiations seem to be absent from their approach.

“It is not a breeze; they must go beyond these 'SI and but',” he said. Returning the agreed calendar, he added that in accordance with the agreement, the meeting was to take place on January 28.

“Let them come, sit and listen to us. But instead, we hear something one day and something completely different the next day.”

Siddiqui also stressed that the Gohar lawyer is not a member of the negotiation committee, declaring: “Gohar should transmit to its committee the importance of honoring their commitments and attending the meeting as promised”.

Siddiqui also expressed his frustration in the face of the incoherent approach of the PTI. “We cannot participate in this game without certainty or sincerity,” he said.

The senator's remarks are intervening that the Prime Minister's adviser for public and political affairs, Rana Sanaullah said that the government could not be held responsible for the end of negotiations.

“We have entered the dialogue and want to continue, but there is a way of negotiating. It has always been that one of the parties gives his demand charter and that the other answers it. The questions are then formulated and discussed. “” Sanaullah said in a speech on Geo News' “Geo Pakistan”

The Prime Minister's assistant excluded any possibility that the PTI ended the dialogue because of the “restoration” of its direct chain so desired following “another window” open simultaneously for the party founded by Imran Khan.

Sanaullah said the government had assured that there was “no other window”.

“Any dialogue, discussion, settlement or agreement on political issues is supposed to take place only between political forces, or between the opposition and the government.

“Those they [PTI] We plan to have no discussion on any political agenda, as was clarified earlier. If they [PTI] There is still a certain confusion, it will be clarified in the coming days, “added the former federal minister.
