Islamabad (Dunya News)-The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court gave time to Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) to submit more documents on the question of the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the tragedy of May 9.

Directed by judge Amin-Ud-Din Khan, a constitutional bench of five members heard the arguments of Hamid Khan on the petition filed by the founder of PTI, Imran Khan.

Judge Khan asked the lawyer what his client asked in the petition. Lawyer Khan argued that the petitioner had asked for the formation of a judicial commission, including the chief judge and two superior judges of the Supreme Court, to investigate the May 9 incident. He added that another request was to arrest the civil trials before the military courts.

Judge Muhammad Ali Mazhar pointed out that the request concerning the civil trials in the military courts had already become unsuccessful, because a separate case was already underway.

He asked the lawyer if the question of the training of a judicial commission could be examined under article 184, clause 3 of the Constitution. Lawyer Khan replied that the May 9 incident was a national tragedy, but no legal inquiry has been held.

Judge Mazhar asked him if he had applied for training a judicial committee in the case linked to the civil trials before the military courts. Hamid Khan replied in the negative.

Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail pointed out that in the petition, it was mentioned that dozens of civilians had been killed on May 9. Have you attached a death certificate of one of the people killed with the petition, questioned the judge.
