Trump criticizes Putin and threatens adversaries with new prices while he is down to the deadline of April 2

CNN –

President Donald Trump is heading for an auto-avril deadline on scanning prices and threatening others on foreign opponents this weekend, even if he expressed his opening to conclude agreements.

Trump threw on April 2 as the Liberation Day, promising reciprocal prices on an unpertured number of countries, as well as 25% tariffs on cars and automotive parts.

But he also warned of additional prices on American opponents of Russia and Iran in a telephone interview with NBC News Kristen Welker this weekend.

The president openly distributed grievances to Russian President Vladimir Putin in the interview.

I was very upset when Putin started to enter the credibility of Zelenskys, because it is not going in the right place, do you understand? Trump told Welker, referring to the comments of Russian leaders last week suggesting that Ukraine is under a temporary administration while the two nations work on an agreement.

He continued, but a new leadership means that you will not have an agreement for a long time, right? But I was upset about it. But if an agreement is not concluded, and if I think it was Russia's fault, I will put secondary sanctions on Russia.

Prevails in the clearly critical tone of Putin contrasts strongly with his own words on the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky and prevails over the calls for elections in the country torn apart by the war. He told Welker that Putin knows he was angry.

Trump warned that not to conclude an agreement could lead to secondary prices.

If Russia and I cannot conclude an agreement on the end of bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia's fault, which might not be, but if I think it was Russia's fault, I will put secondary prices on petroleum, on all the oil coming out of Russia, he said.

Trump did not provide new explanations on how he would implement these secondary prices.

The White House announced last week an agreement for Russia to stop using force in the Black Sea when the sanctions against its banks and its exports on its invasion of Ukraine are lifted. It was not far from a complete 30-day ceasefire initially offered by the White House.

When he was asked if he spoke to Putin this week if the Russian chief did the right thing, said Trump, yes.

In the same interview, Trump said he was planning to put secondary prices on Iran until an agreement was signed.

During his first mandate, Trump withdrew the United States from a 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and the world powers, a pact which imposed strict limitations on the controversial nuclear program of Teherans in exchange for relief of sanctions. On Sunday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that the Islamic Republic had rejected direct negotiations with the United States on its nuclear program.

However, the United States has already imposed steep sanctions on Iran and make a minimal exchange with the country.

The president previously conceded that his upcoming prices could lead to an economic disturbance, and his main economic advisers have sought to minimize the uncertainty and economic impact of Wednesday announcements.

The director of the national economic council, Kevin Hassett, refused to say how many countries would be intended for reciprocal rates and suggested on Sunday that the plans remain fluid.

President Trump will decide on the number of countries, said Hassett during an appearance in Fox News Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo.

Hassett seemed to indicate that the president made no final decision.

President Trump has a long -term vision of America's golden age and really worked, really difficult to do it in time. But I cannot give you forward -looking advice on what will happen this week. The president had a lot of analyzes before him, and he will make the right choice, said Hassett.

Trump, on the other hand, said a certain opening to negotiation, telling Welker, only if people are willing to give us something of great value. Because countries have great value. Otherwise, there is no room for negotiations.

Trump told journalists on Friday on the Air Force One that any transaction would probably occur after the prices were announced.

The president has long believed in the use of prices and the threat of prices as a key negotiation tool. But the back and forth of prices earlier this month shook the markets, feeding anxiety and uncertainty for American companies and consumers.

Peter Navarro, the main advisor to trade and manufacturing presidents, rejected concerns about the increase in consumer prices.

The prices are tax reductions, prices are jobs, prices are national security, prices are perfect for Americans. The prices will make America again great, he said during an appearance on Fox News Sunday with Shannon Bream.

CNN reported that Americans will not necessarily feel the complete effects of the prices immediately, but that import taxes could increase prices by almost everything, especially since more than 40% of the goods that America imported last year from nations that Trump targeted.

Blow pressed Navarro on the concerns that prices will appear on daily costs. He underlined the money collected from automotive prices which will support tax cuts, promising the greatest tax reduction in American history for the middle class.

Holistically, as they say, consumers and Americans will be better off, including all the jobs they get, he said.

Pressed once again on the survey that reflects the overall belief that prices will make the products more expensive and the advantages assert itself that prices could cause disturbances, Navarro said they should trust Trump.

Trust Trump. We have the example of the first term. We know that we have imposed prices historically raised on China. We have imposed aluminum and steel rates. We imposed washing machines, solar. Everything we removed was prosperity and price stability. And the reason why inflation was not going to see is that foreigners will eat most of them. They must do it, he said.
