Four Pak players are heading to the Asian camp in Doha

KARACHI: The four Pakistani players will participate in Shaping Future Stars: Asian Table Tennis Union Academy Programs in Doha from December 17 to 23.

The programs are organized in partnership with Aspire Academy and the Qatar Table Tennis Association to nurture the next generation of table tennis talent across Asia. In this regard, the Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) has submitted the names of the selected players to the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).

The selected athletes are the best in their respective sports, based on the latest national rankings, recent performance statistics and overall potential, said Ejaz Ali, secretary of PTTF in a letter to PSB.

We confirm that no favoritism or bias influenced the selection process. The chosen athletes are fully capable of representing Pakistan and achieving success in the said programme.”

Selected players include M Azan, Fahad Khan, Hoor Fawad (national ranking No. 1; won bronze medal at the South Asian Youth Table Tennis Championship in Sri Lanka; and participated in the Asian Games, Islamic Games, Asian Championships in Korea) and Bisma Faryal (national ranking 7th; won bronze medal at the South Asian Youth Table Tennis Championship in Sri Lanka).

It is to be noted that the said programs were approved at the last Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ATTU to raise the standard of table tennis in the region and provide young athletes with quality training, mentorship and exposure to advanced coaching. techniques.

Each Asian member association/federation was invited to nominate up to four players (two boys and two girls U17) to participate in this camp. The ATTU covers accommodation costs for all selected participants.
