York Table Tennis Winter League Division Two Champions unveiled
The team of Adam Exley, Rich Harrison, John Hughes, Daniel Nicholson, Benji Richardson and Gary-Tranter achieved the top position and promotion to division 1 despite losing 4-6 against Wigginton B, for whom Dylan Pottage won his three singles.
They are 26 points ahead of University B, who still have two games left to play.
University B and Wigginton B are in a battle for second place and a play-off with second soil in division 1 for promotion.
Both teams still have two games left and the university stands for 11 points, but the two meet in their last game.
At the bottom of four teams are fighting to avoid the two relegation places.
York Ri D (67 points) are third of the bottom and their two remaining matches are against the teams among them: Clarence D (60 points with 1 to play) and York Ri B (51 with 3 to play). York Ri E (73 with 2 to play) are fourth of Bottom.
Coneystorpe A is about to win 1.
They only need 13 points from their remaining 3 games and only York Ri A can catch them.
York Ri C on the bottom is degraded at the bottom.
Clarence B and Wigginton A are contrary to preventing the relegation play-off. The two teams meet each other next week and Clarence B will need a convincing victory over their rivals, because they are one point behind with two more games left, while Wigginton B still has three games left.
