Tyler Kopff signs entry -level contract with Buffalo Sabres
A third team All-ECAC and First Team All-Iivy Selection, Kopff will be accompanied by the AHL's Rochester Americans to end the 2024-25 season on an amateur try-out before his contract starts for the 2025-26 season.
The resident of Ridgewood, New Jersey, skated this season in all 32 games for the Bears and set nine goals and 19 assists for 28 points to be second in the team in scoring. He is also in second place in the NCAA among attackers with 23:31 Average time on ice per match.
Kopff made six Multi-Point matches for the Bears in 2024-25 and in particular placed a four-assist and five-point match in the 6-5 overtime victory of Brown on Rensselaer (January 31). He was the first bear since 2016 to take five points in a single match. He also placed a two-purpose and four-point effort in Brown's 5-1 win over Yale (February 9).
Rochester has 11 regular seasonal competitions left in 2024-25 and is currently in second place in the classification of the AHL's North Division.
Kopff joins the former Bear Sam Lafferty '18 in the Buffalo organization. Lafferty closes his first season in Buffalo in 2024-25 and played this season in 50 games with the NHL club.
