Womens Tennis earns 6-1 victory over Tennessee State
Birmingham, Ala. The Tennis team of Samford Ladies won a 6-1 victory over Tennessee State in the Samford Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon.
With the victory, Samford improved its seasonal record to 9-8. Tennessee State fell to 1-11 with the loss.
Samford wiped the three double games to take the early 1-0 lead.
In Singles Action, Samford claimed victories on number 1, no. 2, no. 3, no. 5 and no. 6 to win the 6-1 victory. At number 1 singles, Eleni Liakonis defeated Francisca Gomez-Weiss, 1-6, 6-1, 6-0. On the number 2 Singles Court, Meredith Taylor Earned a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Sydney Brantley. At No. 3 Singles, Sara Elenda Jovana defeated Nikolic, 6-1, 6-2.
At No. 5 Singles, Libby Blair Victoria Cooksey, 6-1, 6-2. On the number 6 Singles Court, Grace Keller Natalie Walsh, 6-3, 6-0.
Samford then goes a step back in the Southern Conference game while the Bulldogs hosts Etsu on Sunday 30 March. The competition is set for a start of 12.00 from the Samford Tennis Center.
