How the life of Rishit Nathwani took a turn
During the Para competitions of 2025 Khelo India on Thursday, Rishit Nathwani took the air after beating the ruling national champion Raj Aravindan Alagar in a men's Singles SM5 table tennis protection, to the great joy of spectators.

Determined to fight

He progressed quickly and by 2021 he was a medal winner of the National Championship and a silver medal on debut.
During the Para matches of 2025 Khelo India, Nathwani received an exciting reception after the reigning national champion Raj Aravindan Alagar, a member of the Indian quota for the 2022 Asian para games, as well as the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
“I didn't think I would beat him today,” said Nathwani. “I have been playing for 3 years and since then losing him every year in the national final. Today I won.

Nathwani later defeated Uttar Pradesh's Abhishek Singh in the gold medal match.

Support wanted
Despite the promise he has shown, Nathwani shares that support was hard to find.
'They didn't give anything in return [after the bronze medal]. In fact they [Khelo India] I have not repaid any travel costs from last year, “said Nathwani.
Nathwani, who trains in the SAI Center in Gandhinagar, emphasizes the fact that he has not had any support from his state government.
