Tannenbaum Notches Patriot League Womens Tennis Player of the Week
Annapolis, md. Continue to add to her extensive list of performance, Navy Senior Emily Tannenbaum was named the Patriot League Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the League Office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Tannenbaum continued her impressive spring last weekend by winning both her singles and double matches in the 6-1 victory of the Navy in Colgate on Saturday. The triple All-Patriot League First Towl was to remain unbeaten the Navy, this season moved to a combined 5-1 in competition match.
The senior collaborated with second -year students Olivia Fermo To make a 6-1 win over Colgate's top combination of recurring All-League Honoree Sophia Montero and Amelia Galin. Tannenbaum then defeated Galin, 6-3, 7-5, in the top singles flight, so that her singles were postponed to streak to six games.
Tannenbaum is 9-1 in its last 10 completed singles competitions and will be 12-3 on the Singles courts and 8-5 in double competitions this spring.
The weekly prize marks Tannenbaum's 11th time winning Patriot League player of the week in her career and the third time she has earned the honor this season.
