This month we are making a table tennis robot!

This booklet means business because it jumps straight into activity.

The first part of this project is to assemble the engine. The instructions kept the continuous flow of activity easy to understand, while the drawings were very detailed.

Here are the materials! You can check if you have the complete parts by comparing them to the picture in the booklet.

Parts of the booklet are also accompanied by a reminder to stop and check your work as you go.

This would certainly guarantee that you are working on the right track!

The second part of the project is adding the launcher!

After building the engine, we can now add the pitcher, the mechanism that launches tennis balls.

The third part of the project involves building the ball feed. It is the one who holds the balls and loads them into the launcher.

For this part, we used the different types of wooden parts, O-rings, zip fasteners and screws.

It is certainly the most difficult part of the project, as it requires a lot of construction, evaluation and assembly!

My daughter loved building this one!

She loves all the details so much, making sure each piece is locked and kept in place.

The fourth part of the project consists of wiring it to power the machine.

For our stop and check section, we have made sure that the cam turns counterclockwise. If this does not work, connect the battery and the motor as shown in the first part.

To further secure the wooden pieces, use the zip fastener and pass it through the hole.

Lock it by pulling firmly on the other end of the chain.

Once finished with the engine, launcher and ball power, we then built the base using wooden parts, small springs, foam stickers, screwdriver and screws.

Install the motor, cam and switch inside the base and be sure to lock it in place with the zip fasteners.

The fifth part of the project is adding the net. This part allows you to return the balls to the robot and continue playing.

For this part we used a pair of long wooden pieces, zip ties, foam stickers and a net.

In this part of the booklet you will find a detailed instruction manual on the operation of the table tennis robot.

For the Design Challenge, just add a net to make the game more exciting. We can do this using strings, cardboard or even toilet paper and hold it using bottles or tweezers.

This case also includes a pair of rackets and 10 ping pong balls.

To get started, place the ping pong balls in the pitcher and set them on top of the table.

The Eureka Crate logo is engraved on the top of the launch pad.

Turn on the launcher and check if the ball launches as expected.

Each Eureka Crate project brings us new learning and an awesome end product that we can use even long after we're done with the box. This table tennis robot is definitely a fantastic project, because it teaches my kids a lot. , including engineering and robotics and also helps them enjoy the sport.
