And the ground shook?

Any die-hard country music fan knows the 1991 song “The Thunder Rolls” by heart, but perhaps Garth Brooks should consider writing a new tune about the earth-shaking earthquake.

Brooks performed in front of a sold-out crowd of 102,000 at Louisiana State University’s Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge Saturday night. When he started singing a fan favorite, “Callin’ Baton Rouge,” the stadium became rowdy.

Really, really loud.

A seismometer located in the Nicholson Building on the LSU campus recorded a small earthquake in the area around 9:30 p.m., as noted on Twitter by Cody Worsham, chief brand officer at LSU Athletics.

The university confirmed in a tweet that a seismometer was recording during the ceremony.

The Saturday night party was the first time that Brooks had performed in Baton Rouge since the Garth Brooks World Tour had three shows there between April 23-25, 1998.
