The US Geological Survey announces that an earthquake struck northern New York north of Albany this morning. At 3:45 a.m., the USGS reported the 12th earthquake to hit the northeast in the past 30 days; This weak seismic event, classified as a 1.9 event on the Richter scale, was detected in southern Glens Falls north and east of Saratoga Springs.
