Victoria records 95 coronavirus deaths in July as Australia’s COVID-19 deaths reach 201

More than 200 people have died from the coronavirus in Australia as the death toll continues to accelerate.

A man who was part of the Crossroads hotel group in Sydney died overnight, while Victoria recorded three more deaths in the 24 hours to Saturday, bringing the total to 201.

The last deceased in Victoria were a man and a woman in the 1980s, and a woman in the 1990s.

Prime Minister Daniel Andrews said a growing number of community broadcasting issues were causing concern.

There are currently 5,919 active cases of coronavirus in the state.

There are 1,075 cases among health workers, and the total active issues related to the elderly care sector are 1,008.

Mr Andrews says 379 patients were in the hospital, 41 of whom were in intensive care.

It took Australia just five months to reach the milestone after the first coronavirus death of Perth’s husband James Kwan on March 1st.

This happened after the first confirmed cases of COVID-19 in January.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison activated the national coronavirus emergency plan in February.

The country’s 100th death was Alice Bacon, a 93-year-old Newmarch House resident in NSW, who died in May.

There were about 11 weeks between the passing of Mr. Kwan and Mrs. Bacon. Similarly, it took 10 and a half weeks for the number of Australian coronavirus deaths to double.

Victoria experienced Australia’s darkest month with 93 coronavirus victims in July, which came as Melbourne and Mitchell Shire entered a second hurdle.

Victoria recorded its deadliest day on July 30 with 13 deaths, on the same day the state announced a record 723 cases.

Analyzes suggest that the situation is likely to worsen in the coming weeks.

Mr Andrews has suggested the six-week block could be extended as the count of cases in the triple digits continues to be recorded daily.

Prior to the Melbourne outbreaks, Australia passed without a coronavirus death for about a month.

There were no coronavirus deaths from May 23 until a Victorian man in his 80s died on June 24, marking the beginning of dozens of deaths in Victoria.

Prior to that NSW had the largest deaths in the country, with many being linked to Ruby Princess cruise ships and explosions in nursing homes.

Victoria accounts for 116 of Australia’s deaths.

There were 52 in NSW, 13 in Tasmania, nine in WA, four in Queensland, four in South Australia and three in ACT.

Age care facilities and cruise ships have been zero for the most deadly explosions.

The Newmarch House cluster in NSW has so far resulted in 17 deaths, the Dorothy Henderson Lodge nursing home, also in NSW, is linked to six deaths.

Thirteen deaths have been recorded in other senior care institutions across the country.

Meanwhile, the Ruby Princess group remains the deadliest blast in the country with 20 deaths linked to the cruise ship.

Nine additional deaths have been linked to other cruise ships.
