After the earthquake, do not forget Myanmar

We were dropped in Baghan in the early hours. No street light – and even if there is, there are no signs in the streets. Only armed with a guiding guide steeped in the person, we lost. Thousands of Muslim Rohingya societies were killed in a campaign of ethnic cleansing, as a million refugees escaped from the country. The civil war has led to nearly half 54 million citizens living in poverty, and they survived 59 points – or less – per day.

Then earthquakes last month. It is known that at least 3000 people died, but the number will rise as the bodies continue to recover.

The earthquake center was close to Mandalay, on the side of Mingon of the river. In the days after the earthquake, the army continued to implement the air strikes against the pro -democracy rebels in the same region, where there is an urgent need for help. “The conduct of air strikes and attacking civilians, as the earthquake struck inhumane and shows a flagrant ignorance of human rights,” said Joe Freeman, Myanmar researcher at Amnesty International.

The inhuman did not start with the earthquake. A week ago, 3000 people from a village five miles southern Mingon had escaped for their lives, not because of natural disasters, but a raid by the forces of the Military Council who, according to local sources, arrested any male villagers who faced 20 homes.

The earthquake holds the headlines (until the next catastrophe occurs elsewhere and the concentration moves) but this natural disaster extinguished the lights on the ongoing and malicious disaster, made by human manufacture.
