Pakistan has reportedly thrown two spillovers into the Indian Air Force during a major escalation of the Kashmir conflict.

A spokesman said an aircraft had crashed into Pakistani territory and captured two pilots. Pakistan also denied that it had thrown one of its taps.

India has confirmed the loss of a MiG21 fighter and said it was missing a pilot. He said he was investigating reports of his capture.
India and Pakistan all claim Kashmir, but only control some of it.

Nuclear forces have fought three wars since Britain gained independence in 1947. Only one of them was Kashmir.
