China has accused Indian troops of illegally crossing the disputed Himalayan border and carrying out “provocative” warning shots patrolling soldiers. The Chinese military said its soldiers were “forced to take countermeasures”, although it is not clear what they were. India rejected the allegations and Chinese troops accused it of firing into the air while confronting Ladakh in the upper region. India said the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has tried to move closer to India’s advanced position around the Real Control Line (LAC) and “fired several shots to scare the air [our] own troops “.
