Metropolitan Police have opened an investigation into the racist attack on three black women. BBC Newsnight found that for two weeks the attack officials did not recover CCTV or take witness statements, even from the victims. According to the three women, the police made racist assumptions about them which hindered the investigation. Met denies this, but apologizes to the women for failing and said she is reviewing her work. The force told women it closed the crime probe in April, but opened it a month after the Newsnight investigation. Newsnight reporter Richard Watson reported. .
