Hilarious April, Dad from Sunderland returned to school
Kevin Morris tricked Kieran, 10, and 6-year-old Lillie into thinking that Grange Park Elementary School had taken off the lock and they had to prepare for classes.
He even let the couple drive to the family car before discovering the truth.
Kevin and wife Samath, both 38, from Southwick, run alternately to care for the children, each working four days off and four days later, Kevin as a driver at a transportation company for an NHS clinical waste management company, and Karen as administrator.
The couple domesticated the couple, but bedtime shifted back without having to get up so early in the morning.
When Lillie and Kieran were still in bed at 8am, he saw his opportunity.
“They are usually before me, but this time I had to wake them up so I knew they would do it right away because they barely woke up,” he said.
“I didn’t give them breakfast because they usually go to the breakfast club at school, so I just told them to hurry or we’ll be late.
“I managed to get them to the car, but we self-isolate so I couldn’t take them anymore and I said that when I told them.”
Kevin shared his video of the couple with Samata, who was at work: “She didn’t know what I did,” he said.
“She said, ‘You’re totally awful about these kids – even though it’s funny. “
Kevin also shared the video on his Facebook page – and was amazed to see the reaction as family and friends shared the clip.
“It has now accumulated about three-quarters of a million shares,” he said.
“It increases every time I look – I had to silence the phone.”
In the end, though, Lillie laughed one last time, “She said, ‘I keep my uniform and you can wash it at the end of the day,'” Kevin said.
