Rare Ravi Shankar releases footage to mark centenary – BBC News

This week will see the 100th birthday of Indian musician Ravi Shankar, one of the most celebrated artists who has taught the famous Beatle George Harrison of India.

Scheduled celebrations, including concerts at South Bank Center in London and Carnegie Hall in New York, were delayed due to coronavirus outbreaks.

However, the Shankar family has shared their private archive material with the BBC.

Ravi Shankar’s daughter, Anoushka Shankar, a renowned musician, spoke to BBC correspondent Rajini Vaidyanathan.
