Los Angeles (SBSLA) – Sunday celebrated the 27th anniversary of the deadly 1994 Northridge earthquake.

The earthquake, measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale, struck on January 17, 1994 at 4:31 am, waking residents of the San Fernando Valley.

In the Los Angeles area, the earthquake killed 57 people, injured thousands of others, and caused billions of dollars in damage.
