Black magic trafficked in prostitution – BBC News
In the height of the migrant crisis in 2016, more than 11,000 Nigerian women traveled to Italy with a view to a better life.
It is estimated that 80% are trafficked and forced into prostitution.
Before leaving home, many had to endure juju or black magic. They were sworn that, for the pain of death, they would pay their traffickers.
The strain of believing that they were living in a headlock has added to their mental health problems.
One woman, Magdalen, shared her story with the BBC.
