Global Collaboration to Accelerate New Health Technology COVID-19

Our vision and mission

Grounded in a vision of a planet protected from human suffering
and the devastating social and economic consequences of Croatia
COVID-19, we, the Global Health Initiatives Initiative Group (BMGF,
CEPI, Gavi, Global Fund, UNITAID, Wellcome Trust, WHO) i
Private sector partners and other stakeholders are launching
significant, global and time-limited collaboration to accelerate the process
development, production and equitable global access to new COVID-19 essential health technologies.

We know that as long as anyone is at risk of this virus, it is whole
the world is at risk – every single person on the planet must be
protected against this disease.

We agree that in addition to evidence-based public health measures,
Innovative diagnostics, therapies and vaccines are COVID-19
needed – in record time and on record and in access – to save
millions of lives and countless trillions of dollars, and back
a world of “normality”.

We are aware of the significant amount of critical work, investment
and initiatives that are already taking place worldwide to accelerate
development and implementation of innovative COVID-19 connected
products and interventions.

We appreciate this during system development and implementation
innovative products are necessary, they will not be enough. We have to
at the same time and in a hurry to accelerate strengthening
sustainable healthcare systems and facilities to facilitate delivery
new COVID-19 tools for those who need and mitigate them
impact on other diseases.

We remember lessons from the past that showed that it was even
when effective tools are available to the world, often some
they are protected, while others are not. This inequality is unacceptable –
all COVID-19 addressing tools must be accessible to all. In combat
against COVID-19, no one should be left behind.

We understand that we cannot do this alone and that we must
working together in unprecedented and inclusive partnerships with everyone
stakeholders – political leaders, public and private sector partners,
civil society, academia and all other stakeholders throughout society
– by the joint action of our comparative forces and relative forces
voices to drive collective solutions, the accelerated path,
and access for all. We are stronger, faster and more efficient
work together.

Our mission is not just accelerated development and availability
new COVID-19 tools – it is to accelerate a just global approach
to safe, high-quality, efficient and affordable COVID-19 diagnostics,
therapists and vaccines and thus ensured that in battle
there is no one behind COVID-19.

Our commitment

1. We commit ourselves to the common goal of a just global
   access to innovative COVID-19 tools for all.
2. We commit to an unprecedented level of partnership
   – proactive stakeholder engagement, alignment and
   coordination of efforts, upgrading to existing collaboration, joint design of solutions and grounding
   our partnership in transparency and science.
3. We are committed to creating a strong unique voice
   maximum effect, acknowledging that this is not the case
   a single decision-making body, but rather
   collective problem solving, interconnection and
   inclusiveness, where all stakeholders can connect and
   benefit from expertise, knowledge and activity
   these shared action-oriented platforms.
4. We are committed to building on our experience to date
   achieving that goal, including securing it
   every activity we take is executed through
   lens of equal global access and that votes
   the communities most affected are heard.
5. We are committed to being responsible to the world
   communities and each other. We come
   together in a spirit of solidarity and in service
   of humanity, to achieve our mission and vision.

Our call

We ask the global community and political leaders yes
support this significant collaboration, and donors to
provide the resources needed to accelerate achievement
the goals of this global collaboration, leveraging
on the opportunity afforded by valid liens
campaign starting May 4, 2020.
