Coronavirus: BA warns of 12,000 years of job losses and weaker demand – BBC News

 



British Airways has warned that it could result in a reduction of 12,000 workers due to the collapse of air travel caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Its parent company expects several years to elapse before demand returns to the final levels.

Meanwhile, scientific advisers from the UK government have confirmed that remote social measures will be in place until the end of this year. Hospitality businesses, such as pubs and restaurants, are already badly hurt by the blockade.
