UAE schools and universities to close for 4 weeks starting on Sunday

In its latest attempt to contain the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Ministry of Education announced that all schools and universities in the United Arab Emirates will be closed for four weeks, starting on Sunday March 8.

Tuesday night's move follows the closing of nurseries last Sunday and advances the spring break which was to start on March 29.
Meanwhile, schools, universities and nurseries will be completely sterilized.
During the last two weeks of closure, from March 22 to April 5, public schools will provide distance education through the "Learn From Afar" program, with the ministry encouraging private schools to follow suit.

On its Twitter account, the ministry said, "This decision was made in the best interest of the health and safety of students and the wider community in schools and universities."
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) confirmed the closure of private schools in the United Arab Emirates, retweeting the ministry's messages this morning (as well as a parallel order of mind).
