Concord, NC — Health officials are investigating cases of hepatitis A in workers at Waffle House, Cabarrus County.
The incident happened at a restaurant at Vinehaven Drive in Concord.
The Cabarrus Health Alliance may have been exposed to people who purchased or ate food between 9 pm and 12 am on June 20th, or between 12 am and 7 am on June 21st. Said there is
Hepatitis A is a virus that affects the liver. Symptoms are possible fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, fever, and jaundice.
The virus spreads when you come into contact with an infected person, eat contaminated food or drink, and ingest the virus without your knowledge.

If someone buys or believes that they have bought or ate food during the period, hepatitis A vaccine can be given. Health officials said that if someone was vaccinated, they would be protected from the virus and no additional action would be required.
The Cabarrus Health Alliance will host a hepatitis A vaccination clinic at 300 Mooresville Road in Kannapolis from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on July 3rd. No reservation or insurance required.
