COVID-19 has caused many mental health problems. Dr. Paravia Rabind Joshi Dr. Whitefield, a consultant psychiatrist at the Columbia Asia Hospital, shares the most common mental health problems that are currently prevalent and how to address them.

The country is experiencing a very difficult time right now, due to self-isolation linked to social distance. Many health problems are knocking on doors for many people across the country. People with pre-existing disabilities are suffering, but due to the additional stressors, those who did not have such history are also afflicted or prone to mental illness.

But how, and how are we going to deal with mentally?health problem. The following are the following specifications.

The main mental problems people face:

1) Major depressive disorder.

2) Depressed adjustment disorder.

3) Anxiety issue.

4) Disability / addiction.

Other mild behavioral disorders include:

1) Dysregulation of anger.

These minor disorders only increase the stress faced by everyone and can lead to depression.

The distance from people you have met regularly is the biggest cause of mental illness. Besides this, I do not take care of dressing up or grooming. The feeling of not being able to meet people leads to increased stress.

It’s always good to have a routine. Don’t distract yourself from over-thinking financial issues or doing your best in the future. It can ruin your mind. Therefore, productive division of time plays an important role. Ignore the uncertainty of the current situation.

Away from loved ones

Getting in touch with your loved ones only through digital platforms can be very stressful. But we don’t know the future, so ignore any unnecessary thoughts that might lead to mental health problems.

Substance poisoning

Lack of recreational activity is currently causing many problems. Drug addiction may peak in the next few weeks because even drugs such as alcohol have not been available for two months. Develop new hobbies, avoid negative thoughts and avoid addiction.

Sleeping disorder

The disruption of everyday life has definitely changed our sleep patterns. Other than that, excessive thoughts about COVID-19 and the ways it can affect us could be another cause of a sleepless night. Avoid such thinking processes.

How to deal with mental problems:

1) Have a fixed routine.

2) Please secure space and necessary time.

3) By exercising regularly, it leads negative energy to positive energy and helps release endorphins in the brain. This is a natural mood lifter.

4) Eat a nutritious diet.

5) Understand the difference between management problems and management problems. Topics like COVID-19, job market crashes and financial losses are out of your control. But keeping yourself safe is something anyone can do. Thinking about your unmanageable problems only increases stress.

7) Convert issues into opportunities. At the moment, there is plenty of time available to learn new things. Use technology in a productive way. Remember that creativity brings positiveness to life.

8) Limit toxicity. Stay away from all toxic thoughts, people, news and habits. Use positive affirmation instead.

9) Listen to your inner feelings. Because intuition works. Give them time to process their inner thoughts and listen to them as they can make a huge difference in improving your mental health.
