Fulton County, Georgia — Mandatory indoor masks and a ban on large rallies were just some of the recommendations made on Friday during an emergency meeting in Fulton County.
A meeting was convened due to the surge in cases of COVID-19.

Health officials have made it very clear that they are not trying to cause panic or confusion, but they want to make sure that they are ahead of this highly contagious variant, and today We have decided that we need to close the senior center to do so.
Dr. Lynn Paxton, director of district health at Fulton County Health Commission, said the county is on a bad track and cases of COVID-19 are increasing daily.
The county is often in the highly infected category. The Fulton County Health Commission has some urgent recommendations for the county to get back on track.

Paxton said the rapid spread of Omicron would really hurt unvaccinated people.
“More than 94% of hospitalized patients are unvaccinated, so we are putting a lot of effort into vaccination of people,” says Paxton.
