“Tea with honey may calm your throat, but it’s not as effective as treating the allergies themselves,” she said.
Martin also pointed out that wearing contact lenses can be eye irritating. Contact lenses can trap pollen on the surface of the eye. This can be even more of a problem for those who are already suffering from red and itchy eyes caused by seasonal allergies.
Martin also said that a woman’s menstrual cycle can make allergies more troublesome.
“Extra glasses of wine can exacerbate these symptoms, especially women before and after cycle time, who need to pay more attention to allergic medications,” she said.
According to Martin, the allergy season lasts from January to May in Florida.
