Ross, 43, said he hopes that the June fundraiser will have something positive as a result of Loclan’s death and support the very necessary research on brain tumors. He states: “It’s been almost a year since Loclan died, and the pain remains very serious for all of us.

“There is nothing we can do to get Loclan back, but we can raise money and raise awareness for the research that is urgently needed for this catastrophic disease.

“There is a lot of awareness about cancer in general, but it is often not the case with certain types of brain tumors. In rare cases, these can be catastrophic forms of cancer, Lochlan’s. Often deadly, as is the case.

“It is imperative that more is done to fund research in this area and to support the critical work of hospital teams such as the Great North Children’s Hospital.”

Ross is a member of the team that took care of Locran in his time Great North Childrens Hospital When he finishes his spectacular run and arrives at the hospital, he will be at hand to meet him. Some of the staff even volunteered to participate in the last few miles of execution.

Andrew Hebden will accompany Ross. Dr. Rebecca Hill, the fiancee of Andrew Hebden, was Locran’s chief consultant. He started running only a few years ago, but running around the countryside near his house for miles helped him deal with the devastating news and the relentless journey they all made. Said.

He has tackled some small funding challenges, but nothing at this scale.

“I’m sure it will be an immense challenge and we don’t underestimate it at all, but we know we’re raising money for such an important task. It will inspire us in the name of Locran, “he added.

Loclan’s mother, Sonia, and her sister, Faith, 8, will be part of the support team, serving light meals and vocal backs on the route.

Sonia added: “When your child is diagnosed with incurable brain cancer, you have little control. All you can do is live the best life and get the best care and treatment while they are here. Is to make sure that.

“I can’t thank the entire hospital team for taking care of Locran (they will be part of your family for a while), so it’s valuable to be able to return something and continue those connections.

“Furthermore, funding for the study of brain tumors, especially high-grade gliomas, is essential. With such a small amount allocated by the government, we felt the devastation of such a diagnosis. It is our responsibility to raise funding and awareness, and future families do not have to live in pain at the end like we do.

“I’m very proud of what Ross is trying to achieve, and he’s definitely doing it. He’s doing it for Loclan, a hero without a cape.”

Dr. Rebecca Hill, an MRC clinical scientist at Newcastle University and an honorary consultant in pediatric oncology at the Great North Children’s Hospital, will also participate in the final part of the run. The team that took care of him.

“He was delighted to take care of him, and I always miss his infectious smile and the jokes he played to our medical students!”

Andrew, 42, said: Not only are I eager to help with any fundraising efforts, but I am also providing some assistance to Ross as we tackle this challenge together.

“Both of us have run marathons before, but this is a run on a different scale. It’s going to be really hard, but we two have it for such a big purpose. I am determined to complete. “

Children’s Cancer North invests around £ 450,000 annually to fund research on childhood cancer at the Cancer Center at Newcastle University. The center is an important resource and focuses on six key areas, including brain tumors in children.

Heather Peacock, a spokesperson, said: It’s an unimaginable idea, but it’s an idea that this family must bravely confront.

“I hope Ross and Andrew wish them the best of luck in their challenge, and they will be there to support them.”

Matthew Price, Community Development Manager at Brain Tumor Research, said:

“The Ross and Andrew running challenge is a phenomenal effort and will definitely push them to the limit. We are very grateful for their support and wish them good luck.

“Too many families have been torn apart by this catastrophic disease. It is Ross and Andrew who can advance the study of brain tumors, improve patient choices and outcomes, and ultimately find treatments. There must be the support of people like. Brain tumors of all kinds. “

Ross and Andrew have set a funding target of £ 10,000. You can read more about their story or support them, Here..
